UM Joins 2025 DOST - PCIEERD Project Leaders` Summit, Showcases Cutting-Edge Sustainability Research
Pasay City, June 6, 2025 — The University of Mindanao (UM) proudly represented its pioneering research efforts at the 2025 Project Leaders' Summit, held in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD). The event, hosted at the Manila Marriott Hotel, gathered leading scientists, researchers, and institutions across the country.
The summit served as a critical platform for project leaders to share insights, challenges, and best practices in managing research projects, with a focus on administrative, financial, and technical hurdles in the implementation of government-funded initiatives.
Representing UM were leaders of five PCIEERD-supported research projects aimed at promoting sustainability, innovation, and circular economy practices.These projects spotlight UM’s commitment to science-driven solutions that address urgent global challenges, particularly through innovations in green engineering, materials science, and waste valorization.
Through initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 12, UM reinforces its mission to bridge academic research with community and industry impact, championing responsible production and resilient infrastructure development.
